“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”” Joshua 1:9
“So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”” Deuteronomy 31:6
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
“Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16
As a Christian we experience many dry and lonely seasons. We experience loneliness when God is trying to build us up, develops us and cleanse of things, and clear our lenses to focus on Him.
We may ask ourselves why all of a sudden, no one is answering the phone? Why you don’t want to be around people like usual? Why God is telling you to distance yourself away from that person/group? Or why the relationship was doing so well, suddenly went sour? God is very intentional about everything & know that God can’t elevate you, allow you to grow in him if your not alone with him and spending intimate time with him.
Lonely seasons are very vital in believers lives. Most of our character building and growth comes from seasons of loneliness. Those seasons where God gets us by ourselves and works on us & changing our hearts, thinking & actions. In these seasons God gives us visions, dreams & Goals. Our dry lonely seasons aren’t because God just wants us to be lonely, but for good use.
When I first got saved and started truly living for God I experienced my first dry season, it was tough. I cried everyday for two weeks, and it was a struggle. I cried because I’d never been completely alone before, and it was just new to me. I had to drop my then boyfriend and friends. I knew I couldn’t get where I wanted to be with God holding onto things & people I wasn’t meant to be carrying. Looking back it was soooooooooo minor and I wouldn’t be where I am today without that season where God just cleansed me of my old ways, thinking & restored me.
When I begin to feel lonely God telling me I’m not clinging to him and his word like I need to. When I feel this way I know it’s only God letting me know that I need to pull in closer to him and allow him to fill me up and not look to anyone or anything else to fill the loneliness I may be feeling.
This walk may be hard and lonely at times, but we are not alone, we are never alone. In those times where we may feel lonely or like no one is with us…God is! He’s right beside us filling in the gaps and the voids that only he can fill. We have to stand on the word of God and just know that he is with us and will surround us with his presence, & people who are like him. No matter what it feels like, looks like, and sounds like…you are not alone!
I say all this to say stay encouraged and know that you aren’t alone.
If you’re praying for my godly friends and relationships, God will send them to you in his perfect time! Allow your dry season to birth something amazing & God to show you who he is. I hope this encouraged you in any way and know that you are not alone!
