Philippians 4:11-13 – “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.  I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Isaiah 26:3 – “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

Matthew 6:25-26 – “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on.  Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them.  Are you not of more value than they?”

Hebrews 13:5 – “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”

During the holiday season or when we are in a season where we feel like our blessings aren’t as big as others, it’s so easy to become discontent with what we have. In this season you see engagements, marriages, relationships, new cars, and so many other things that we desire and haven’t attained yet in our lives, but we must focus on our portion and what God has already done in our lives.

We have to be very careful that we keep our eyes on our portion and what God has for us, because we can easily become discontent, and distracted. Discontentment can and will eventually turn into coveting and jealousy if not taken care of at the root.

So in this season of happiness and the holidays learn to be content with your portion. Repent if you haven’t been content, write down and ask yourself why you’re discontent in these areas if you are, and pray over those  areas of you life where your discontent. When you do this you are realizing those areas where you struggle with discontentment and handing them over to God. He will change your heart and with your focus on him he’ll rid you of your discontentment.

You have to learn to love what God has already blessed you with. What God has for you is for you and if you desire something, pray about it, work for it and if it’s in Gods will, he will bless you accordingly. If you have to disconnect from social media, turn off the TV, and focus on just yourself, and Christ do just that so your able to renew your mind and focus on your portion.

So when you see people you know or don’t know being blessed, root your brothers and sisters on and be genuinely happy for them! God is no respecter of persons and what he does for someone else he will certainty do for you!
